The Living & Learning Zone is a self-contained, fully accessible community facility within the Wilberforce headquarters in Huntington.
A variety of activities, courses and groups for our own tenants, people from other support organisations and the local community take place in the ‘Zone’.
The Living & Learning Zone consists of three rooms, together with service facilities like toilets, kitchen and on-site secure parking.
The Skills Room
provides space for a variety of activities, such as art and crafts, and includes a comprehensive kitchen designed to accommodate people with sight loss and other disabilities for cookery courses and daily living training.
The Conference Room
is a multi-use space accommodating up to about 40 people, ideal for small conferences and meetings but also a venue for activities like sensory, exercise, dancing and music.
The IT Suite
provides computer stations and appropriate software for training of people with a visual impairment in using computers and the internet. It can also be used as a small meeting or break-out room as the computer work stations can be folded away against the wall when not required.
