Wilberforce Trust support workers work with tenants across our houses in York and Tadcaster. The work is varied. It may typically involve getting our tenants ready in the morning including support with personal care and hygiene. During a day you may also take our tenants out on trips and activities, help them prepare meals or go to sensory sessions at Wilberforce House.

Our support workers are given full training, and work towards the care certificate and can also study towards an NVQ.

The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors.

“I thoroughly enjoy the role and  all that comes with it, this includes working with the tenants and making a difference to individuals lives. I am looking forward to the journey ahead and all the new challenges this brings with it.”
