Paul, who is taking the 100 mile cycle challenge for us, has sent this message which I hope will inspire you to donate. Please share this with friends and relatives so we can all support Paul on his ride. Here is his story:

I am Paul Vickers, aged 66 and returned to cycling at the age of 61. I have ridden a few 100mile sportives. When I get to the 70 mile mark I ask myself why I am doing this but I struggle on. Recently, however, I made the decision not to do anymore of that length. Then I read an article in the Press saying the Wilberforce Trust are looking for a rider to take part in The Ride London 100 – a hundred mile sportive!

I rang, arranged a visit and I like what I see, so I agreed to ride under their banner to try and help raise money through sponsorship for their project to build a Community Hub where outreach services, training for people with sight loss, events and activities, a community cafe and more can take place which will be next to a new residential block of flats fitted with all the modern aids that can make independent living for residents a more fulfilling experience.

Now when I get to the 70 mile point this time I will know why I am riding!

You can sponsor him via his Virgin Money Giving Page – please also gift aid it for us by ticking the box – this comes at no extra cost to you. Please give whatever you can.

Thank you for your support.
