Active Sensory

Activites may include floor basket ball and parachute activities with tactile, light up and ringing balls, and chair exercises for people with limited sight and/or mobility, including wheelchair users. Cool down uses meditation mood music for relaxation.

2nd November

Music Night

Music Night is a chance for people with disabilities and sight loss to get together socially at Wilberforce House.

Listen to and join together in singing popular songs from the 60s. 70s, 80, 90s and more!

Karaoke Friday

With a huge selection of songs to choose from there is something to suit all tastes.

10am – 11:30am

7th & 21st November

Technology Drop In at the Yorsensory Services Hub (10:30 – 2pm) Come in with your technology or try ours!

 

14th & 28th November

Sensory Session

Appreciate the sights, sounds, smells and tactile nature of the multi-sensory room.  Relax and unwind in the peaceful surroundings or interact with the specialist equipment – the choice is yours.

10am – 12 noon & 1pm – 3pm

£5 per session

 

23rd November

Connect Cafe

This month we will be joined by Lynn Hobson, Senior Community Outreach and  Engagement Officer (North East, Yorkshire and the Humber) for the Houses of Parliament. The Outreach service aims to create awareness of the work of Parliament and show how debates and decisions are relevant to people in the region. The Parliamentary Outreach service also promotes engagement with the processes of Parliament, demonstrating how the public can get involved at a local and national level.

The café runs from 10:30am  – 12 noon

 

25th November

Childrens Sensory Session, 10am – 12pm

For children with multiple disabilities including learning disabilities and sight loss. Cost £5 per session.

Babies and Infants Sensory Session, 1pm – 3pm

For babies and infants (from birth to 3 years) with disabilities including autism, learning disabilities and sight loss. Cost £5 per session.

 

Christmas Fayre, 2pm – 4:30pm

Our annual Christmas Fayre is on at the New Earswick Folk Hall, meet Father Christmas, take your chance on our Grand raffle or enjoy some homemade cakes and crafts. Plenty to get you in the festive spirit.
