This week we are getting ready for our Wilberforce Walk on Saturday. The walk follows sections of the Wilberforce Way, a 60 mile walk through the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.

The walk is to raise funds towards our mobile sensory unit, which will deliver information and advice for people with any degree of hearing loss, sight loss or both.

The unit will deliver these services in the community, reaching people who may be unable to reach help in other ways.

The facts:

  • There are almost two million people in the UK living with sight loss.
  • Over 50 per cent of sight loss is avoidable.
  • There are more than 11 million people in the UK with some form of hearing loss, or one in six of the population.
  • There are approximately 250,000 people in the UK with both hearing loss and sight loss. Of these 220,000 are aged 70 or ever.

Please donate and help us raise these funds to support our communities with advice and information and raise awareness of hearing loss and sight loss across the region.
