yorsight conference - Research, Information and Technology

Save the date – Yorsight Conference 2016

The Yorsight Conference will return in 2016. This year the conference is based around the theme of Research, Information and Technology.

Are you working with people who have sight problems? Who have dementia? Who would benefit from access to technology?

Professional development for your staff? Are you interested in current research and what the future may hold for treatment and eye care services?

This next conference promises to host a wealth of information. Speakers will include Dr Hannah Bartlett from Aston University speaking about nutrition and dietary supplements with regard to our eyesight and Nicola Topping, York District Hospital  “The changing face of management of macula disease”.

There will be a chance to explore our popular sensory equipment and to discover up to the minute IT developments and what is available for visually impaired people. The conference also marks the launch of our information Kiosk – EleKiosk.

The conference also hopes to have speakers have research on Posterior Cortical Atrophy, a form of dementia which primarily affects sight rather than memory. This is now receiving more attention and is helping professionals and families to develop an understanding of this condition and how best to support people who have it as a diagnosis. This is yet to be confirmed.

The conference will take place on Friday April 22nd 2016  at the National Railway Museum.

The day cost £60 and includes refreshments and lunch. Please complete the booking form and return or contact Jane Drake for further information.
