The Wilberforce Trust, looking to recruit support workers for its tenanted houses in York and Tadcaster, has joined up with two other care organisations to stage a Jobs Fair at the Monkbar Hotel in York on Thursday 23 October.
Open from 8am to 8pm, job seekers can drop into the event to meet Wilberforce staff and tenants (and those from the other organisations) for a discussion regarding the work and in some instances be interviewed on the day and/or be invited for further interviews.
Wilberforce is recruiting for support staff to work in its houses, supporting tenants to live independent lives in the community. There are a number of vacancies in houses in York and Tadcaster. Staff will be required to work shifts rotation but a full induction and a comprehensive training package are offered.
What does it take?
What does it take to be a carer? Compassion, Dignity, Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Empathy, Courage, Adaptability and Imagination say the care organisations.
This event bring together three key providers of social care in York and North Yorkshire (Wilberforce, Mencap and United Response) to give job seekers looking for a career that offers real job satisfaction, training and career development opportunities, the possibility to meet and greet employers and apply for current vacancies.
Each of the three organisations is recruiting to its own staff group.
The three organisations are working in collaboration not only in recruiting staff but also in developing training programmes with joint attendance from each organisation. There are a number of objectives: efficiency, standardising training and sharing good practice across agencies.
