Many of our tenants with sight loss rose to the challenge when it was suggested that this year they might design the Wilberforce charity cards for 2013. So many were interested that a little ‘competition’ was organised in the Living & Learning Zone, with two of our usual tutors facilitating – Deborah and Louise (who is also a support worker at one of the Wilberforce houses).
Ten tenants took part and a panel of anonymous judges selected three designs for production. However, one of the participants – Gordon – produced a second design and it was thought to be so good that the management team decided to produce four different designs this year rather than the usual three.
Unfortunately the tactile 3D elements, important for our tenants with sight loss, cannot be mass-produced but we hope the images will give a good impression of them.
The cards, A6 size in packs of 10 with envelopes, will go on sale early in September.
